– Today, there is only one manufacturer of equipment of this class in Russia. There is no competition, and the capacity of the Russian telecom operators’ market is sufficient for two or three content writing service suppliers of network core equipment to be present.

At the same time, there are enterprises on the domestic market that have potential and are capable of occupying this niche, the expert believes. He added that

Existing domestic solutions for the network core are inferior to foreign analogues in terms of quality, RSpectr was told by the MegaFon press service.

"We would like to see a larger number of supplier-developers. We support and work towards import substitution, and we actively participate in testing and refining analogs together with Russian suppliers," MegaFon explained.

– Base stations are undoubtedly one of the critical elements of the cellular network infrastructure. However, in addition to BS, cellular networks contain many network elements of different classes. The core of a mobile network is a complex hardware and software complex (HSC) that ensures the functioning of the network and almost all of its “intelligence”.

The mention of the problem at such a high level indicates that the situation in the industry has reached the extreme point of criticality, the expert noted.
